FALL 2008 - Moving into the Classics

Check in for the Classics occurs on Saturday, August 23rd from 10am to 6pm.

The check-in process takes place at the Front Desk of your assigned building. Please remember to bring your SJSU Tower card. You will be given an access card, a key, and other important information. Once your check-in is complete, you will be free to move into your room at your leisure.

You must complete the check-in process by Sunday, August 24th, 2008 at 10pm. If you are unable to check in by the deadline, please contact University Housing Services at reslifeasst@housing.sjsu.edu or call (408) 795-5621.

We suggest that you bring your own dolly to ensure a smooth and timely move in.

Parking Information

During the regular check-in periods noted above, you will be able to park in specially designated areas around the buildings with a UHS Courtesy Permit. Permits will be available from UHS staff on the day of your move-in. The permit allows you 2 hours to unload your vehicle. Please be aware that you risk being ticketed if you park outside of the specially designated areas, without the UHS Courtesy Permit, or for longer than 2 hours.

Residents who have purchased an SJSU Parking Permit through SJSU Parking Services will have their permits mailed to them (if you purchased the permits far enough in advance) or permits may be picked up at the Parking Services office in the 7th Street Garage. Any questions regarding the SJSU Parking Permits can be directed to Parking Services at (408) 924-6556.

Important information on triple rooms

Coming to college to live with two other individuals you have never met before can seem a little overwhelming. Using these helpful tips when you first meet each other will help alleviate some of the stress at the start of the semester and may help bring the three of you closer together.

The following are some of the things you may consider bringing with you. You should contact your roommates to coordinate your packing since you may not need duplicates of some items. As a reminder pets are not permitted without prior approval. Please refer to Pet Policy & Request Form.

Getting Connected

Local telephone service, basic cable TV, and Internet connection are included in your rent. For your telephone and Internet services, you will need Cat3 and Cat5 patchcords to connect your phone and computer to the Gateway. To connect your TV to the cable services, you will need a Cat 5 patchcord. Any questions can be directed to Spartan Shops at (408) 795-INFO (4636) or you can visit the Computer Lab in CVB on the first floor.
