FALL 2008 - Moving into the Suites (Building C)

Check in for the Suites occurs on Saturday, August 23rd from 10am to 6pm.

The check-in process takes place in the lobby of the Suites, Campus Village Building C. Please remember to bring your SJSU Tower card. You will be given an access card, a key, and other important information. Once your check-in is complete, you will be free to move into your room at your leisure.

We suggest that you bring your own dolly to ensure a smooth and timely move in.

Parking Information

During the regular check-in periods noted above, you will be able to park in specially designated areas around the buildings with a UHS Courtesy Permit. Permits will be available from UHS staff on the day of your move-in. The permit allows you 2 hours to unload your vehicle. Please be aware that you risk being ticketed if you park outside of the specially designated areas, without the UHS Courtesy Permit, or for longer than 2 hours.

If you have applied for a Campus Village parking permit, confirmation of your permit will be emailed to you by mid July. Permits will be available to pick up at check in.

Residents who have purchased an SJSU Parking Permit through SJSU Parking Services will have their permits mailed to them (if you purchased the permits far enough in advance) or permits may be picked up at the Parking Services office in the 7th Street Garage. Any questions regarding the SJSU Parking Permits can be directed to Parking Services at (408) 924-6556.

Furnished Suites

Your suite and room includes the following:
Living room furniture (sofa, armchair, coffee table, end table, lamp)
Living room Telephone (common area)
Dining table/4 chairs
Microwave
Trash can & recycle bins
Bedroom furniture (extra-long twin bed, desk, chair, mobile file, wardrobe, dressers)

All furniture and amenities must remain in assigned room and may not be removed.

So, What Should I Pack?

The following are some of the things you may consider bringing with you. You should contact your roommates to coordinate your packing since you may not need duplicates of some items. As a reminder pets are not permitted without prior approval. Please refer to Pet Policy & Request Form.

Extra-long twin sheets (You will receive a packet and order form in the mail to pre-order a set).
Pillows & Blankets
Towels
Bath mat
Personal toiletries
Alarm clock
Computer, printer, Internet patchcord, etc.
Television, DVD player, etc.
Surge protector extension cords (UL approved)
Flashlight
Telephone (for your own room)
Vacuum (optional)

Getting Connected

Local telephone service, basic cable TV, and Internet connection are included in your rent. For your telephone and Internet services, you will need Cat3 and Cat5 patchcords to connect your phone and computer to the Gateway. To connect your TV to the cable services, you will need a Cat 5 patchcord.
