Housing Updates

Is the first Fall 2020 housing payment due July 10?

As we await approval of our housing plans for Fall 2020, we will not assess late fees if you are unable to submit your housing payment by July 10. Housing late fees will not be placed on your account and you will not lose your housing space.  This applies to your housing charges only.  This does not apply to any other campus charges on your account.  The next payment due date is Sunday, August 9.

When will students receive assignment letters?

We anticipate sending out assignment letters in mid to late July once we receive approval of our proposed plans and determine occupancy for the Fall 2020 semester. Housing occupancy and assignments for are being determined based on campus, CSU system and Santa Clara County guidelines. The letter will contain details about your building and room assignment, roommate information and Fall Move In.

There are housing charges on my account.  What does that mean?

When you log into your MYSJSU account, if you see housing charges on your account, you have been assigned a housing space on campus.  If you do not see housing charges, you have not been assigned a space.  For those who do not see housing charges, we anticipate being able to offer you on campus housing prior to fall move in as we continue to assign students as we receive cancellations

What health and safety protocols are being implemented to address COVID 19?

University Housing Services will continue to conduct with increased frequency the cleaning and sanitization of public spaces including bathroom sinks and showers in community bathrooms, front desk areas, elevators, lobbies and other common areas.  In addition, cleaning products will be provided in each common area bathroom.  Hand sanitizer stations have been placed in elevator lobbies and at building front desks.  We are utilizing disinfecting misters to further sanitize and disinfect common area furniture, lobby areas and resident floor hallways.   There will also be extra cleaning around common areas including wiping down door knobs, crash bars on doors and elevator buttons.

How do I cancel my Fall 2020 Housing Application?

If you wish to cancel your Fall 2020 Housing Application, please complete and submit the License Cancellation Form. To receive a full refund of your initial payment, cancellation requests must be received by July 16.
