The Classics - Joe West and Washburn Halls

Hi! I was born and raised in Santa Clarita (near Six Flags Magic Mountain). I left and received my Bachelor of Arts at Sonoma State University in Communication Studies and then moved to rural Illinois where I got my Master of Science at Western Illinois University in College Student Personnel (I guess I never wanted to leave college)! I have been working at SJSU for the past two years and have had an amazing time! I have two animals that live with me in Joe West: Piper (dog) and Finn (cat)! Beyond all that serious stuff, I have gone Skydiving twice, love movies, seek out thoughtful conversations, and enjoy sitting!

Pongpunya "Jack" Korpob

Residential Life Coordinator
jackThe Apartments - CVA & CVB

Jack was born and raised at the "End of the Santa Fe Trail," El Monte, CA. He attended the University of California San Diego with a B.S. in Psychology. He did two years of AmeriCorps with City Year Boston, serving in two inner city high schools. After that, he worked a short summer stint as a photographer at Fenway Park, (he's a Boston Red Sox fan, the San Francisco Giants are his #2 team). He then earned his M.S. in College Student Development and Counseling. He loved the different service, social justice, fraternity, and residence life experience he had during graduate school, so he became a Residence Director at the University of Vermont for 2 years before moving back to his home state of California to start as a Residential Life Coordinator of the Campus Village Apartments at San Jose State University. For fun, Jack enjoys all things Disney, traveling/driving, cooking healthy and delicious food, and adrenaline pumping experiences (i.e. roller coasters, sky diving). He has an orange Tabby cat named Chester, of whom loves peoples!

Cat Fillmore

UHS Behavioral Case Manager
Residential Life Management Team

Cat was born and raised in Maine, but spent much of her young adult life in the Chicagoland area. There she obtained a B.A. in Special Education and M.Ed. in Community Counseling while gaining experience as a student and later as a professional in residence life. After moving to California and spending time working in community mental health, Cat has recently returned to her love of housing while merging it with her passion for mental health and seeing others succeed. She enjoys salsa dancing, soccer, and escape rooms. Cat is open to and excited about meeting with any and every student in housing that comes her way.

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York (lovingly called "The 716"), Jay came to the Bay Area back in 2014 and joined the San Jose State Residential Life team in 2016. Prior to this, he worked in Residential Life at the University at Buffalo, where he also earned his M. Ed. in Education Studies: Counseling. When he's not out hiking or enjoying pour over coffee, you'll find him exploring the bay on his Ducati.

I am Katrina Pratts and I am excited to be part of "The Apartments" community as an RLC this year. I am originally from Miami, Florida and have lived there up until working at SJSU. I received my bachelors in Social Work from Florida International University and my masters in Higher Education from the University of Central Florida. I love adventures and enjoying new experiences so I am very excited to be living in and experiencing The Bay Area during my time here.

JZResidential Life Coordinator

I am excited to become a Spartan and really start to see San Jose as home. I have actually been on the west coast for a while. I most recently served as a RLC at Humboldt State, which is in northern, northern California. Just before that I attained my M.A. at Seattle University while working in Residence Life as an Assistant Resident Director. My most significant takeaway from my time in Seattle was what I learned about my role in promoting social justice. I am a first generation college student that left a very small town in Missouri to attend college in Alaska, where I majored in fun (outdoor studies more specifically). I now spend most of my free time with my partner and doggy named Mila. They are my world. I love shopping, my favorite colors are pink and glitter, and I often find myself doing some sort of adventure sport outside. I play basketball, practice parkour, enjoy watching scandal and glee, and I live to improve our world through social justice. I'm eager for the year and the opportunity to get to know and serve SJSU students.
